Once we got to DC, we took a taxi to our hotel. Our room wasn’t ready, but Ford’s Theater was 4 blocks from where we were staying, so we headed over. It turned out we needed to have timed tickets, so we decided to go back at 4. We headed over to the mall, which…

Day 8: We all got up earlier than we’d been used to on our trip East to head to the train station. We got there 1.5 hours early. Dad & I decided to take a little nap on the platform. 

Once we got home, we set up the sprinkler, filled the kiddie pool & brought out the water guns. There were some tears, but we had fun. We also caught fireflies & played monster that night. 

These were what we were looking for. We found tons!

We found the frog pond & saw tons of tadpoles. We walked around to the other side of the pond & that’s where all the frogs were hanging out.

We reenacted some battles on the trail. We went for a few hikes to burn off some energy.

Day 7: We went to Jockey Hollow to see the cabins where Washington’s men slept.

We also played monster & caught fireflies.

Day 6: We went to the Lego store to get a kit for each of us so we could sit with Grandma & work on it at the house. Caden got his put together on day 1 & it took me a couple of days to put mine together. That afternoon we went for a…
