Our final tourist stop of the night was the White House. We walked around to the front to get a closer look & to find dinner. We made our way to the Lincoln Memorial & took advantage of the steps. We rested for a bit before moving on. 

We decided to walk over to the Lincoln Memorial & check things out a long the way. The top picture is a tree we found at the bottom of the Washington Monument. The bottom pictures is Mom’s favorite memorial, the Korean War Memorial.

We are waiting for the elevator to go back down. If we could cut & paste these pictures, one would be perfect. I (Wyatt) was bribed to smile for the camera, just in time for Caden to decided he was done. 

We took the elevator to the top of the Washington Monument & the views were amazing! We spent a fair amount of time up there trying to make sense of everything we were seeing.

Day 9: We woke up & went to breakfast around the corner at the Corner Bakery. We then headed back to The Mall. Our first stop was the National Museum of American History. We also went to the National Archives, but we couldn’t take any pictures in there. We saw the Constitution & Declaration of…

We realized the White House was just a few blocks from our hotel & decided we had to head over to see it. Needless to say, we were exhausted by the end of the night. 

We went back to the hotel to get checked in & cooled off for a bit before going to Ford’s Theater. We also walked across the street to see the house where Abraham Lincoln died the next morning.
