• Our final tourist stop of the night was the White House. We walked around to the front to get a closer look & to find dinner.   • We made our way to the Lincoln Memorial & took advantage of the steps. We rested for a bit before moving on. 

  • We decided to walk over to the Lincoln Memorial & check things out a long the way. The top picture is a tree we found at the bottom of the Washington Monument. The bottom pictures is Mom’s favorite memorial, the Korean War Memorial.

  • We are waiting for the elevator to go back down. If we could cut & paste these pictures, one would be perfect. I (Wyatt) was bribed to smile for the camera, just in time for Caden to decided he was done. 

  • We took the elevator to the top of the Washington Monument & the views were amazing! We spent a fair amount of time up there trying to make sense of everything we were seeing.

  • Day 9: We woke up & went to breakfast around the corner at the Corner Bakery. We then headed back to The Mall. Our first stop was the National Museum of American History.   • We realized the White House was just a few blocks from our hotel & decided we had to head over to see it. Needless to say, we were exhausted by the end of the night. 

  • We went back to the hotel to get checked in & cooled off for a bit before going to Ford’s Theater. We also walked across the street to see the house where Abraham Lincoln died the next morning.

  • Eating frozen yogurt on The Mall.
