When we got to the bottom, we walked down river to check out some rapids that Dad used to raft. They are also just above where we put in last summer to raft with the Qualman’s. We decided to stop at the Gore Range Brewery in Edwards on our way back to Denver for a beer. Once we got to Edwards, it was dumping, big, heavy snow! When we were done eating, we hit the road. Just outside of Vail, we saw a sign that said I-70 closed due to multiple accidents. We decided to make the most of it & stop at Lionshead Village for hot chocolate. We ended up hanging out there for a few hours waiting for I-70 to re-open. Finally, around 6, we checked our phones & we were good to go. We decided to go for it. The roads weren’t too bad, a little treacherous. We stopped in Idaho Springs for dinner at Beaujo’s & made it home around 10pm. It was well worth the trip!
