We went to the museum at the statue. This was the original color of Lady Liberty.

We are in the crown of the statue (after many, many steps up)! The bottom picture shows what the steps look like. They go on & on & on, much past the platform in view. 

We are hanging on the pedestal at Liberty Island with Brooklyn & NYC in the background.

It was finally time to board the ferry! We were hungry by now, of course, so we got a hot dog (yes, at 8:30am & hot chocolate).

We were having a pretty great conversation.

We bought tickets to go up in the crown of the Statue of Liberty. We weren’t sure what traffic would look like heading towards NYC at 8am, so we left early, plenty early. We arrived an hour before the ticket window opened & we were the first car in the lot at Liberty Park. We…

Meet Max! He’s a pig that lives on the farm next to Papa & Grandma’s. We thought he was pretty hilarious. He enjoyed us petting him & he would get right up in our faces & sniff.

We went to Thomas Edison’s lab & managed to walk away without a lot of pictures. We did get these, though. We picked out costumes from the costume bin to get our picture taken with him. 

I’m doing a little better with the camera. I still don’t love having my picture taken & rarely smile without being a little goofy, but I will occasionally!

We took a side trail to check out the view from the overlook.
